FINAL RESULTS OF 2013 TOURNAMENT: A ROUND ROBIN TOURNAMENT

CHAMPIONS:

LADIES DIVISION: CLAIRE ROGERS AND HELEN XIA (6-0)

GENTLEMEN'S DIVISION: BILL BUCKLAND AND NORMAN ROSS (7-0)

Congratulations to the champions of the inaugural CCITC National "Living Healthy" Senior Team Tennis "Doubles Tournament" and Children's Clinics held on the grounds of the outdoor Cromarty Tennis Club. This was a round robin tournament.

The winner in the Ladies Division was the team of Claire Rogers and Helen Xia (6-0).

The winner of the Gentlemen's Division was the team of former Canadian National Team Player Bill Buckland and Nova Scotia Sports Hall of Famer Norman Ross (7-0).

CCITC organizors are already working on next year's tournament and are eagerly looking forward to a large contingent of off-island players participating in its Labour Day Tourney.

The free children's clinics were an outstanding success, with 30 registrants ages 6-16 participating with 5 CCITC paid instructors and helpers putting on an amazing clinic. Each participant received a medal and a prize.

The children's clinics will again be a featured event of next year's tournament.

Thanks to all of our sponsors that produced player prizes that were awarded through three blind draws (winners were not re-entered) over the course of the tournament. Another set prizes and takeaways went to the children (6-16) in the Children's Clinics.

In all, $1880.60 worth of prizes were awarded

Three entire days of 'Living Healthy" snacks, based on the recommendations of a Sobeys dietitian, were provided to all participants.
