1714-1715: Jacques L'HERMITTE, engineer, first sketches.
1716-1724: Jacques François de Verville, engineer-in-chief, plan of town and fortifications and start of construction.
1724-1745: Etienne VERRIER, ingénieur en chef, main part of construction with modifications and additions.
1751-58: Louis FRANQUET, elaborate proposals for improvements of which but a small part was in progress at the time of the 1758 siege.
1960-1972: Jacques DALIBARD, chief architect Parks Canada Tech. Services.
